a long ride, but worth it!

I've been doing a fair bit of cycling this week. There are cycleways from here in Brighton all the way along the coast up through Redcliffe to Scarborough - about 15km one way.
I've been steadily tackling it a bit each day, and going a bit further. The weather has been perfect for riding - low 20's and a light breeze.

Well, so far this has been a fairly tedious and frustrating week on the work front. Agencies slow to get their shit together, dangling carrots but nothing happening.... ho hum.
Thankfully, had some light relief today with John
rockey1 , we met up with some friends of his for lunch then went to the Picasso exhibit at the Modern Art Gallery, a building new to me.
It's tucked behind the exisiting Art Gallery, further down the river. And very impressive it is too!
We went through the Picasso exhib (lots of nice goodies from his own collection, I'll have that, that, and THAT, thanks). Then we went upstairs, and found a Seal balancing a piano on its head. Very cool.
Then we found the Gordon Bennett exhibit, which was a real mind fuck, because it is A) so confronting. B) Bloody good. And there were three other people there. Tragic. They need to promote these things more.
Then we had coffee at their very nice cafe by the river, and walked back into town being threatened by dark clouds... thankfully it didn't rain until we got to Q. St. Mall, then the heavens opened, and we said our goodbyes.

Bought John some AussieBum swimmers with 'Australia' written on them. I think he likes them.
Had a great time with John in Port Doug and surrounds, . Look good. Got to see a LOT of things. Fantastic rainforest, beaches, wildlife. Great Food in PD. Took a lot of pictures.
